Jewelry Care Guide

Our pieces at Ink & Iron are made to last. With the right care, your gold-filled jewelry and freshwater pearls will stay beautiful for years to come.

Gold-Filled Jewelry

Tarnish Resistant, Not Tarnish Proof

Gold-filled jewelry is much more durable than gold-plated, but it still deserves gentle care.

Remove before swimming, showering, or exercising to protect from chemicals, heavy sweat, and saltwater.

Store in a dry, soft pouch or jewelry box to minimize scratches.

To clean, gently wipe with a soft jewelry cloth. For a deeper clean, use warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush—then dry thoroughly.

Freshwater Pearls

Delicate & Timeless

Pearls are organic gems and need extra love.

Always put pearls on last—after applying makeup, perfume, or hairspray.

Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth after each wear to remove oils and residue.

Store separately in a soft pouch to prevent scratches. Never keep them in airtight containers, as pearls need a little moisture.

Avoid harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners, and soaking.

Pro Tip: Rotate your pieces! Giving jewelry a rest helps extend its life.
